Paradise On Pico Residential Care Facility was created solely as a tribute to my mother, Minister Shirlie Scoggins Sullivan.  My spouse and I were honored to have had the opportunity to care for her as she LIVED with cancer.  In my mother’s true zest for life she embodied the phrase, “Living with cancer” because although her body was declining, her joy, musical talent and beautiful smile never failed.  It was during the year-long sharing of love that we discovered how emotional, taxing and expensive caring for a loved one can be.

Fortunately, as a registered nurse for almost 4 decades with a masters and doctorate in Public Health, I am familiar with both resident care needs and navigating the turbulent waters of the healthcare system.

In the final minutes of my mother’s life she looked directly into my eyes and said, “We are a team”.  It is in her sweet, sweet spirit that we invite you to tour our home and consider joining our family.  You are not a stranger you are just a dear friend we haven’t yet met.  We look forward to meeting you.
